Trailer of the week

“Do you know what a warlock is Lewis?”

Our second look at this Eli Roth gothic fantasy, which is based on John Bellairs’ bestselling 1973 novel, gives us a lot more detail about the film’s plot – and we very much like what we see. In a nutshell, young orphan Lewis (Owen Vaccaro) gets taken in by his kindly uncle, Jonathan (Black), who – it turns out – is a warlock. Together with his companion Mrs. Zimmerman (the ever wonderful Cate Blanchett), he imparts his magical wisdom on Owen, leaving out just one little thing. The house they live in has a mysterious clock in its walls, built by an evil wizard. Can Owen, Jonathan and Mrs. Zimmerman find this ticking doomsday device before it’s too late? We genuinely can’t wait to find out!
